Once a Web site has been created and is fully functioning, the next step is to drive traffic. One way of driving traffic is registering with Search Engines. Search Engines are sites that allow a visitor to search for related sites by using a specific word, phrase, or topic. When the entry has been made, the Search Engine will go through its directory to match up the words with specific sites.
The following are steps when registering with Search Engines:
- Set META Keywords and a Description from the Owner's Page.
Create up to 25-30 keywords or keyword phrases.
Create a description with up to 150 characters.
- Set the Page Title Tag from your Home page.
Type the title of your organization or site name.
- Check Home page content.
Make sure your company name and information are on the main home page.
- Submit your site to these Search Engines.
